On My Birthday, May 22, 2007

I enjoyed my birthday with friends and Praetorium: Leonard, Duane, John, Katrina, Georgetta, Anita, Salana I & II, Holly, Arletta, Mom, grandma, brothers, Auntie Margaret and Uncle Kenny.

We went to The Fifth Annual Arc of Illinois Expo for People with Disabilities, White Castle and Brunswick.

We ate white castle burgers and played a fun fingerspelling game. The competition was tough. We played for a hour til we finally got the winners.
1st Place: Pastor Carole Clemons (3 times)
2nd Place: Ms. Georgetta Maxie (2 times)
3rd Place: Mrs. Salana Walker

We went to Brunswick's to bowl but it was very crowded. We decided to play the videogames, skee ball, race cars, motor cycles and basketball game. We had a lot of fun.

Georgetta, Anita and I ended up at a Chinese Food Restaurant and Georgetta took this picture of me.

Fifth Annual, Arc of Illinois Expo for People with Disabilities

On May 22, 2007 Praetorium "Signing" Church went to:
The Fifth Annual, Arc of Illinois Expo for People with Disabilities
Location: Tinley Park Convention Center, 18501 S. Harlem Ave., Tinley Park, IL 60477.

We visited every booth, collected brochures, business cards, gifts and candy. We talked with the people of various organizations and saw people we knew. Some of us went to the workshops.
The Transition After High School and a presentation about assistive dogs. The dogs did tricks and obeyed commands which was so interesting to me.

God is Oh, So So Good to Me!

Here we go,

This morning Friday, March 16, 2007 at 8:25am my mom was sitting in the rental car waiting for me to come out of my house, so I could take her to work. As I was locking the front door, she began to tell me to call the police. I whipped out my cell phone and dialed 911.

As I walked down the stairs to bring her the phone I looked to the left and saw my car parked down the street. A young man was walking towards me and I said, "Oh you brought my car back to me." But he didn't comment and went to the house next door.

I gave my mom the cell phone and she went in the house and talked to the police. I stayed outside and saw the man talking to my neighbor on the porch. I took my spare keys out my purse and went down to my car and opened the door.

The man came off the porch and over to the car. I stood there with the door open and said,
"You know this my car?" He said, that's what the man told me when I was buying the cigarettes from his house. Little Larry, a little boy, stole your car and I took it from him."

"Where my keys?," I asked him and he took them off his key ring. I said, "These your shoes?" and he got in the car and took them out.

He said, "The car cut off on me (2) two times and I put $20.00 worth of gas in here. The boys ramsacked it and threw stuff in the garbage a couple of blocks around the corner. I'm glad I just live around the corner", he said as he walked off.

Boy, oh boy. We waited and waited and waited and waited for the police to come. One of our neighbors came over to the car and said, "My daughter witnessed the little boy get in the car. His name is Larry. My husband gave you a card that night to call us so we could tell you."

"Oh, and we gave the card to the police and they did not call and ask you," I said.

We drove around the corner and looked in the alleys but to no avail.

All is well. We have the CAR BACK. It's time to sale.

Now, we need to pray for Little Larry and this neighborhood so that they will not end up in jail. We pray that they will repent of their sins and turn to God. We pray that they will seek the face of God, humble themselves before Him, bless & praise His name, ask Jesus to save and deliver them and teach them how to Love the Lord with all their heart, mind, soul and strength. And love their neighbor as themselves. We pray that they will be disciplined, respectful and good citizens in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Hallelujah, Jesus! Hallelu!

God is Good!

God is good! Yesterday, I was able to accomplish alot of things.

1. I dropped off my mom at work,
2. Read the newspaper to the blind on CRIS WBEZ FM2
3. Took braille lessons,
4. Paid for video production classes for church members and myself
to attend at CANTV,
5. Mailed hundreds of nomination ballots for:
Best Social Event: Ephphatha Lutheran Deaf Concert Choir
Best Hearing Advocate: Pastor Carole Clemons, etc..for
Deaf Illinois Awards 2007
6. Got new spark plugs
7. Put 4 quarts of oil in the car myself
8. Put in $20.00 worth of gas

In the midst of it all, my car started acting funny.

1. Big puffs of smoke was coming out of the exhaust pipes,
2. I had to drive with the hazard lights on
3. the car was riding slow

And on top of all that,

SOMEBODY STOLE THE CAR!!!!

True story. God is good! I am rejoicing, because I know a blessing is on the way! Hallelujah!

Great History Makers, Colts & Bears Coaches

CONGRATULATIONS, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS & COACH TONY DUNGY.
SUPER BOWL XLI CHAMPIONS!
Tony Dungy, Indianapolis Colts Coach and
Lovie Smith, Chicago Bears Coach made history
on February 4, 2007.
They were the first African American coaches to go to Super Bowl XLI(41). They made us proud. We were cheering for both of them. I live in Chicago so, of course I was jumping, shouting and praying for the Bears to win. I felt disappointed when they lose but quickly cheered up when I looked at Coach Dungy.
May the Bears continue to shine and keep on striving for success in Jesus name!
True Bears Fan,
Pastor Carole Clemons
